In this video, my buddy Jesse Minoski and I are installing 480-watts worth of Zamp Solar Panels (http://www.zampsolar.com) onto my new Forest River Grey Wolf 22RR toy hauler. With this solar kit, I'll be able to spend extended periods of time off the grid so I can fish some remote locations and still have the comforts of home.
We also do a little trout fishing and enjoy some laughs along the way.

回复删除Wow, you should have had CampingWorld do that job. Felt like there was a lot of guesswork there. Also you will be surprised how little power you’re going to get with just 2 panels and how little of the 4 batteries you have you will be able to use. Did you do any solar power research before committing on the products you are using?
回复删除Just a thought, but I would add some more welds to that angle, those batteries aren't light and the trailer will see lots of vibration that might crack those welds. There is almost no penetration into the angle iron from the weld, so I dont want to see your batteries turn into a boat anchor! Also, you are probably going to want that controller inside the cabin to see it without going outside.
回复删除Dude, if you're going solar, you need sealed AGM batteries; Sealed AGM's won't leak and won't explode, because there's no gas escaping to ignite and explode.
回复删除I don't know if you have propane tanks, but you can run your refrigerator with propane for a long while.
回复删除Fill that hole with one of those plastic things that goes through the wire organizer in an office desk. It will fill it up nicely and you can run the wires through it. Wil look like it was there all along

回复删除Dude, why didn’t you install the controller in your bedroom so you don’t have to go outside to check it? I’d do regular checks on those batteries too. The battery install makes me nervous. Totally armchair quarterbacking ya here. Only love!
回复删除I had to ask my old man about the battery diagram I was curious if it was done the way he would do it and this is what he said I would have run 4 12 volts in parallel so that they wouldn't up the voltage but they would give you more storage power.
